U-SQL

U-SQL is the big data query language for Data Lake Analytics .

U-SQL combines

SQL's declarative language with the
programmability and type system of C#
T-SQL

In order to efficiently query data at a massive scale, U-SQL is optimized for parallel processing.

U-SQL allows to query data from various sources, such as

Azure Data Lake Storage
Azure Blob Storage
Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Azure Synapse Analytics?)
SQL Server instances running in Azure VMs.

It should be noted that U-SQL is not ANSI SQL.
