Oracle User Global Area

The User Global Area (UGA) is memory that is used for a session, as opposed to the Process Global Area (PGA) which is used for a server (=user) process.
In a dedicated server environment, the UGA is allocated from the PGA, in a shared server environment, it is allocated from the SGA (See Large Pool).
