As per
this link, the final version of DAO is 3.6 and it won't be available on 64 bit Windows systems. As per
this link, however, the
Office team has taken up Jet as part of
Access and has come out with what they call the
Access Control Entry (ACE) driver.
Workspaces
A workspace manages a session with the Microsoft Jet database engine. They reside in memory during such a session.
A Workspace consists of one or more open DAO database objects.
Often, they're used for transactional purposes.
Default Workspace
The first workspace is the default workspace.
