autoreconf

autoreconf is a perl script that was generated from autoreconf.in.
Usually called from autogen.sh or bootstrap.sh.
Apparently, autoreconf --install needs either configure.ac or configure.in as input and runs aclocal, autoconf and autoheader
autoreconf automatically runs autoconf, autoheader, aclocal, automake, gettextize and libtoolize in the correct order to save time when changes are made to autoconf and automake template files.
